The most volatile and difficult month for the investors was April 2025 due to initial recession and tariff fears. Some people say that the case is far worse than the dot-com bubble or even the financial crisis of 2008. April 2025 being a rollercoaster ride for the world markets with investor sentiments swinging like never before, Donald Trump imposed tariffs on all countries on April 2nd, and there was a panic on the part of the investors with the world SP500 index crashing 10% within two days, wiping out 4.2 trillion dollars of market capitalization. It was the biggest fall after the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020. The VIX or the Cboe Volatility Index rose to 52, which indicates the huge volatility and investor concern in the market. A 1.2 billion-pound sell-off of bonds has been seen in the UK, which is a record five-year sell-off. But the markets came back after the White House issued a 90-day pause on tariffs on all countries except China. The 90-day respite and the ensuing large major tech gains provided a push to the investor sentiments, and the market bounced back from the low point. With such good numbers, the markets bounced back, with the SP500 closing only 1% for the month. The US markets had a rollercoaster ride for the current month, and it would go into history books as one of the challenging months ever. The world markets have also fared relatively better with Nifty 50 being up 4% for the month and the Shanghai Index being 5% up.
